Who doesn’t love a soft yellow cake texture with a bit of cream in the middle and the whole thing enrobed in chocolate?
I do, that’s part of my problem!
But the closest thing to this in the US is a moon pie. Sold at gas stations and convenience stores, it’s full of preservatives and stabilizers and unpronounceable things I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t be eating.
I bought these on a whim just to try them - they’re soft and cake like, a swipe of sweet creaminess in the middle, covered in chocolate.
The cake is a little drier than a moon pie, but I don’t mind it because translating the ingredients list, it doesn’t have all the weird stabilizers and softeners and things I probably shouldn’t be eating in it.
I’ll take a slightly drier cake to be able to enjoy a sweet treat without a bunch of weird stuff.
Really tasty and one (ok, or two) are really satiating.
I’m waiting for my next order to arrive that includes more of these.
