The flavour and crunch of the Big Katsu are both fantastic. It is one of the few dagashi that I am happy to pair up with hot rice and a little miso soup. I highly recommend to my friends that they try it.

Big Katsu is not the kind of snack we're used to in Europe, but I'll be damned if it isn't delicious!

These are thin, chewy and have an odd taste--the tonkatsu sauce flavor is very sweet and overpowering. They don't taste like fish at all despite being made with surimi, it just tastes like dry but oily panko crumbs soaked in tonkatsu sauce with something strange in the middle. I won't eat these on their own again but I am interested to try eating them with rice or like katsudon or something... especially since I am now stuck with 29 of them!
